The design reframes the experience of a historic six-story Upper East Side town home, connecting its outdoor spaces from cellar to sky. Working within the constraints of an existing structure and mature tree canopy, the design draws natural light through every level, anchoring the below-grade terrace with a stone sculptural stair, integrated water feature, spa, and reflecting pool. Above, the rooftop terrace provides spaces for wellness, retreat, and entertaining with a pool, integrated spa, green roof, and flexible social spaces that frame views of the surrounding neighborhood. A carefully selected material and plant palette reinforces privacy and strengthens the connection between the architecture and the landscape.
