LAFRENTZ ROAD

At Lafrentz Road, a working farm and horse ranch is transformed into a series of guest experiences enhanced by the pastoral, leading them through both intimate and vast spaces shaped by nature.

Located in Greenwich, CT, this site design draws references from its historical context to create a working family farm and horse ranch that complements the existing contemporary minimalist architecture. Every aspect of the site, from plantings to programming, are arranged to frame important views into and out of the site, heightening the entire program experience.

Through thoughtful collaboration with the client and architect, OLA was able to accommodate a range of site programming without detracting from the pastoral language of the area. The simple entry drive is enclosed by rows of large canopy trees, leading guests to a lush entry garden. Through the house, a single visual connection leads guests to the back area, where an event lawn welcomes visitors with a tree-framed view of the lake beyond.
